A Celebration of Life for former Eads and Brush, Colorado resident, William “Bill” Benner was held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 2:00PM at the

Eads First Christian Church with Jason Young officiating. Masonic Rites were conducted under the auspices of the Lamar Masonic Lodge # 90 A.F. & A.M. and by the Eads Masonic Lodge # 142 A.F. & A.M at the Eads Cemetery following the church service.
Visitation for Bill was held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 10:00AM until 12:00PM at the Eads First Christian Church.
Mr. Benner was born on October 21, 1936 in Lamar, Colorado to William Calvin and Velda Marie (Downs) Benner and departed this life on Thursday May 12, 2011 at the
Methodist
Texsan
Heart
Hospital in
San Antonio, Texas at the age of 74.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law; Chris Roper.

Bill Benner is survived by his wife-Zelda of Boerne, TX; children-Melanie (Tom) Haskell of Wiley and William Bart (Deb) Benner of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Scott (Susan) Sanders of Boerne, Texas, Rick Sanders of Denver, Colorado and Marilyn Ussery of Salt Lake City, Utah, grandchildren; Shae (Chad) Krentz, Matthew Haskell and Ryan and Caitlin Benner. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren; Mykayla and Tate Krentz, sister; Patricia (Marlin Eder) Roper of Eads, aunt; Alma Robertson of
Chivington, Colorado, as well as numerous other family and a host of friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Bill Benner Educational Scholarship through the Kiowa County National Bank either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
