Tom Beakley
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date for longtime Lamar resident Thomas Beakley, affectionately known to his family and friends as Tom.
Tom was born on March 30, 1948 at Denver, Colorado to Thomas J. and Lois D. (Venn) Beakley and passed away on June 10, 2026 at his home at the age of 78 with his family by his side.
Tom served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. After his service, Tom established TC Automotive with his wife, Carol, in Denver, Colorado in 1974. Life later brought Tom and Carol to Lamar, where they established their current business. Tom retired from the family business in 2010, and the business has since been operated by Carol, their son, Justen, and their son-in-law, Robert.
In his free time, Tom loved watching racing and NFL football, proudly supporting the Denver Broncos. He enjoyed attending poker nights and later became a regular at Bingo, playing at the Eagles on Tuesdays and the Elks on Thursdays. Tom will be deeply missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers and two sisters.
Tom is survived by his wife Carol Beakley of the family home in Lamar, children Justen (Joanna) Beakley, Rebecca (Robert) Truitt, Kristell Stegman and Katie (Kyle) Kurtz all of Lamar, CO, grandchildren Kaitlei, Cody (Acacia), Brett, Kolby (McKenzie), Alex, Jakob (Kayleigh), Ky, Kiwi, Danica and Krypten. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Bentley, Brinley, Brayden, Alden, Adeline, Ayven, Krew and one more on the way, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.
