Robert Dean “Spanky” Yates
A memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Robert Yates, affectionately known to his family and friends as Spanky, were held at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ian Blacker officiating. Inurnment of the ashes will be held at a later date.
Per Robert’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.
Robert was born on April 18, 1949 at La Junta, Colorado to Ralph and Ruby (Wright) Yates and passed away on November 19, 2015 at Parkview Medical Center at the age of 66.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronnie Yates.
Robert is survived by his wife, Rose Ann Yates of the family home in Lamar; his sons, James (Carrie) Yates of Pueblo and Steve (Irma) Yates of Breckenridge, CO; step-daughter, Crystal Richards of Denver; grandchildren, Tyler Yates of Guam; Nick Yates of Virginia and Marly Yates of Breckenridge, CO and his sister, Pat (Paul) Hemelick of New River, Arizona. Numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends also survive.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
