Bob Idler
A celebration of life service for lifetime Prowers County resident, Bob Idler, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday December 10, 2016 at the Peacock Family Chapel in Lamar with Ian Blacker of the Lamar Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Veteran’s Section of Fairmount Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the local VFW and American Legion.
Visitation for Bob will be held from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday December 9, 2016 at the Peacock Chapel.
Bob was born on May 2, 1929 in rural Lamar, Colorado to Gottlob R. Idler, Sr. and Catherine Kiniry-Idler and departed this life on Wednesday December 7, 2016 at Lamar Estates at the age of 87.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife – Frances A. Steele-Idler; brothers – Basil Idler and Leo Idler; and sisters – Ellen Bear; Mary James; and Alice George.
Bob is survived by his children – Ron Idler of Lamar; Ed (Kathy) Idler of Lamar; Regina (Mike) Smith of Glenwood, Iowa; Greg (Becky) Idler of Pueblo West; and Joanie Idler of Loveland, CO; by 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one sister-in-law – Marilyn Idler of Lamar; as well as by numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
