Patsy Christine (States) Reed passed away peacefully at home in Lamar, Colorado on June 28, 2017 at the age of 80.
A valiant and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Patsy is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Oris George Reed of Lamar, Colorado, her oldest daughter Marcia Lynn Reed Meyers and husband Kevin Meyers of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, her youngest daughter Luanna Lynn Reed Rodham and husband Steven Rodham of Chickamauga, Georgia, her six grandchildren Sandy Allred, Mitch Meyers, Trent Meyers, Jonathan Rodham, Brandon Rodham, Sara Rodham, and four great grandchildren Lincoln, Lancelot, Grace and Hudson. Likewise, Patsy is survived by her sister Sharon States Potter, and brothers Wayne States and Russell States of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Opal States of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Patsy was born in Lamar, Colorado on February 15th, 1937 to Wayne and Opal States then of Holly, Colorado. She graduated from Cañon City High School in 1955 and married her sweetheart Oris G. Reed on July 9th, 1955. Over the course of 47 years, Patsy worked side by side with her husband Oris, on various projects and intermittently, and full time, as a legal secretary. Patsy retired at age 65 from Rodey Law Firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Patsy will be laid to rest following a private family viewing, on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 1:00PM at the Mountain Vale Cemetery in Cañon City, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lamar Area Hospice Association, P.O. Box 843, Lamar, CO 81052 (or per the old family joke, that a chocolate cake be donated to Oris).
