A memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Marcello J. Vargas, Jr., affectionately known as Mark to his family and friends, will be held at a later date.
Per Marcello’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.
Marcello was born on August 17, 1946 at Lamar, Colorado to Marcello and Rosie (Adame) Vargas, Sr. and passed away on February 3, 2016 at the Lamar Estates at the age of 69.
He is preceded in death by his infant son, Joseph Matthew Vargas; his parents; brother, Jon E. Alba and his god mother, Anita Hernandez.
Marcello is survived by his children, Marcello John Vargas, III of Kansas City, MO; Cassandra Denise (James) Collins of Davie, FL; Stefanie Ann (Steve) Heinson of Liberal, KS, Sabrina Vargas of Kansas City, MO, Tammy Vargas and Adrian Vargas both of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Aaron Michael Donovan; Danielle Marie Vargas; Hailey Dawn Ringler; Devin Ann Aldava; Tarin Briann Brungardt; Princeton Michael Paul Romero; Brittain Rain Romero; Steven Van Heinson; Sevin Von Heinson and Justice Trea Gomez Vargas as well as eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way. He is also survived by his siblings, Elsie Thomaczek of Lamar; Cyndi (Johnny) Jones of Colorado Springs, CO; Larry (Anne) Alba of Peyton, CO and Judi Ann Alba of Lamar as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and numerous friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marcello J. Vargas Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
