John Paul Sutphin III
A celebration of life for lifelong Lamar resident, John Paul Sutphin III will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Lamar Christian Church with Shannon O’Bryan officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation for John will be held from 2:00PM until 6:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel on Friday, January 23, 2026.
John was born on May 09, 1969 at Denver, Colorado to John Paul and Nancy Sue (Ballard) Sutphin Jr., and passed away on January 17, 2026 at the Memorial Central Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado with his family by his side at the age of 56.
He is preceded in death by his nephew Xander Rowan, niece Teagyn and nephew Ryder Shipman.
John is survived by his wife Angela Sutphin of the family home in Lamar, CO, his children John Paul (Jessica) Sutphin IV of Lamar, CO, Chanelle (Caleb) DuVall of Granada, CO, Jozlyn (Kadyn) Hicks of Lamar, CO and McKenzie (Kolby) Stegman of Lamar, CO, grandchildren Blakelynn, Sawyer, Annistyn, Slade, Tilden, John V, Krew and Kross. He is also survived by his siblings Monette Sutphin of Wiley, CO, Melissa (Eddie Uratani) Shipman of Lamar, CO, Monica Sutphin of Lamar, CO and Christopher (Courtney) Stewart of McClave, CO, his parents John (Susan) Sutphin, Jr. of Lamar, CO and Nancy (Mike Huddleston) Sutphin of Lamar, CO, sister-in-law Sara (Dustin) Campbell of Lamar, CO and mother-in-law and father-in-law Alfred and Susan Bergquist of Lamar, CO as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the John Sutphin III Memorial Scholarship through Wiley Consolidated School in care of the funeral home office.
