A memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Joan B. Gaines-Preisser was held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Shannon O’Brian officiating.
Per Joan’s request cremation will take place and there was no visitation.
Joan was born on January 31, 1944 at Garden City, Kansas to W.D. and Pearl (Holmes) Preisser and passed away on February 19, 2016 at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado at the age of 72.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Mary (Charlie) Guy and her grandparents.
Joan is survived by her children, Jean Blahnik of Appleton, WI; David Ausmus of Lamar; Elmer (Chelle) Ausmus of Branson, MO; Terry Gaines of Lamar and Brian (Sarah) Gaines of Hector, AR; grandchildren, Nikki, Kim, Teri, Geannie, Mikey and Tanner and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Dennis Preisser of Pueblo, CO; Judy Monett of Scottsdale, AZ; Linda Preisser of Phoenix, AZ; Sheila (Kelley) Wollert of Wiley and Diane Preisser of Denver, CO; special caregiver, JoAnn Reyes; special friend, Trent Simmons as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Joan B. Gaines Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
