A memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Janet Lawrence will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, September 14, 2026 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ray Matteson officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Per Janet’s wishes cremation will take place and there will be no viewing.

Janet was born on September 10, 1943 at Lamar, Colorado to Robey Henry and Myrtle Mae (Clifton) Davis and passed away on September 03, 2026 at her daughter’s home with her family by her side at the age of 82.

She is preceded in death by her husband Henry “Art” Lawrence, daughter Lori Lawrence, her parents, siblings Bob and (Margaret) Davis and Mary Lou (Gid) Semmens and brother-in-law Leo Sharp.

Janet is survived by her children David (Bree May) Lawrence and Brenda (PJ) Wilson both of Lamar, CO, grandchildren Ashley (Julian Carrillo) Lawrence, Alexi (Kenneth) Montoya both of Lamar, CO, Aubrey Lawrence of Irving, TX, Breanna Lawrence-Wilson of Eads, CO, Cody (Swayzee) Entz of Lamar, CO, Kevin Wilson of Amarillo, TX and Katelyn (Wayne) Beevers of Salida, CO. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Grace Montoya, Kyson Montoya, Kenneth Montoya III, Henry Entz, Easton Wilson, Elsie Beevers and Dawson Beevers and her sister Mildred Sharp as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
