A memorial service for longtime Lamar resident Darwin James Klippert will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 09, 2026 at the High Plains Fellowship Church with Pastor Paul Floyd officiating.

Per Darwin’s request cremation will take place and there will be no viewing.

Darwin was born on September 04, 1953 at Sterling, Colorado to Otto and Minnie Belle (Keasling) Klippert and passed away at his home on May 5, 2026 with his family by his side at the age of 72.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Joy Murphy, sister-in-law Carol (Young) Butler and nephew Ross Butler.

Darwin is survived by his wife Marilyn Klippert of the family home in Lamar, CO, his children Christa (Kelly) Melgoza of Lamar, CO, Teri (Nathan) Huser of Spokane, WA, Zachary (Crystal) Klippert of Del Norte, CO and Jessica (Daniel Shannon) Klippert of Myrtle Beach, SC, grandchildren Jericka Melgoza, Leandra (Tyler) Burton, Elizabeth Huser, Joy Klippert and Rose Klippert. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Nizhoni Klippert and Slaten Burton, his siblings Sandy (Robert) Stumpff of Alliance, NE and Larry (Donna) Klippert of Holyoke, CO as well as his brother-in-law Steven (Doris) Butler of Weldona, CO, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
