A memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Loren Dale Schnabel will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Ian Blacker officiating. Interment with Military Honors under the auspices of the local V.F.W. and American Legion Posts will follow in the Veteran’s Section at Fairmount Cemetery.

Per Dale’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.

Dale was born on June 19, 1939 at Two Buttes, Colorado to Paul and Geula Pearl (Thompson) Schnabel and passed away on October 27, 2017 at his home in Lamar at the age of 78.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Aaron Beisel.

Dale is survived by his wife, Alice Rae Birchler Schnabel of the family home in Lamar, children, Malcom Dale (Joy) Schnabel of Ft. Morgan, CO, Roger Leon (Evonne) Schnabel of Hobbs, NM and Laura Lea (Brad) Woods of Tribune, KS, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Shirley Beisel of Pueblo, CO, Twila (Monty) Brooks of Woodland Park, CO, Don Schnabel of Pueblo, CO, Henry (Ruthie) Schnabel of Bristol, CO, Paul (Marilyn) Schnabel of Carnegie, OK, and Everett (Carol) Van Campen of Ft. Collins, CO, step-mother, Geraldine Schnabel of Walsh, CO, sister-in-law, Dorothy (Dave) Schnabel of Dodge City, KS and brothers-in-law Gerald (Kathy) Birchler of Bristol, CO and Brian Birchler of Brush, CO as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
