A Funeral Liturgy for longtime Lamar, Colorado resident, Candelario Leal, Jr. affectionately known to his family and friends as Lalo, will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, March 13, 2026 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Deacon Allan Medina presiding. A rosary reading will be held prior to the funeral liturgy at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar.

Visitation for Lalo will be held from 9:00AM until 10:30AM on Friday, March 13, 2026 at the Peacock Family Chapel.

Lalo was born on March 1, 1936 at Lamar, Colorado to Candelario and Guadalupe (Florez) Leal, Sr. and passed away on March 7, 2026 at his home in Granada with his family by his side at the age of 90.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Candelario and Guadalupe Leal and his siblings Octavia (Arthur) Alvarado, Enrique Leal, Jesse (Hortencia) Leal, Alice (Manuel) Rivera and Bessie (Don) Peters.

Lalo is survived by his wife of 25 years, Rachel Leal of the family home in Granada, his step-children Linda Ocampo of Lochbuie, CO, Norma Sosa of Pampa, TX, Jessica Medina of Aurora, CO, Veronica (Carlos) Marta of Wheatland, WY, Angel (Jeska) Quiroz of Dodge City, KS and Corina Quiroz of Pueblo, CO. He is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
