A celebration of life memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Calvin Amaya, Sr. will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Life Center Foursquare Church with Pastor Manuel Tamez officiating.
Per Calvin’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.
Calvin was born on March 5, 1956 at Denver, Colorado to Leo J. and Maria Cruz Carmen (Martinez) Amaya and passed away on August 21, 2021 at the age of 65.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leo J. Amaya and niece and nephew Grace and Gabriel.
Calvin is survived by his children, Tonia (Ernest) Esparza of Lamar, Calvin “C.J.” (Jamie) Amaya Jr. of Ft. Collins, CO, Celeste (Sean Smith) Amaya and Feather (Ramon) Lorenzo of Lamar; grandchildren Damien, Julian, Dominic, Marissa, Trey, Deja, Ionna, Sayla, Makayla, Athan, Kenyon, Brooklyn and Kaliah and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother Carmen Amaya of Lamar; siblings Leo (Dena) Amaya, Jr. of Pueblo West, CO, Cathy (Don) Griffith of West Valley, UT, AJ (Cheryl) Amaya of Castle Rock, CO and Michelle (Herman) Jaime of Lamar as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvin Amaya, Sr. Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
