A Celebration of Life for longtime Lamar resident, William E. “Bill” Bishop was held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Lamar United Methodist Church with Reverend Troy Greer officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery.
Bill was born on August 9, 1929 at Ottawa, Kansas to Herbert and Ruby D. (Gross) Bishop and passed away on January 15, 2015 at Prowers Medical Center at the age of 85.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Irene Bishop, son Neal Bishop and his two brothers; Harry Bishop and Evan Bishop.
Bill is survived by his wife of 25 years, Marilyn of the family home in Lamar, son Virgil Bishop of Denver, CO, daughter Patricia Richards of Topeka, KS, stepchildren; Mary (Jim) Atencio of Lamar, Cheryl Taque of Lamar and Nancy (Richard) Kirby of Greeley, CO. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Lamar Estates either direct or through the funeral home office.
