            A celebration of life for Tami Jo Cline was held at 1:00PM on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the McClave United Methodist Church with Reverend Robin Riley officiating. Interment will follow in the Wiley Cemetery.

            Per Tami’s family’s request there was no visitation.

            Tami was born on July 16, 1959 at Lamar, Colorado to Joseph Harry and Bonnie Lou (Bourne) Cline and passed away on November 4, 2016 at the Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 57.

            At a very young age Tami ran the Boston School food service operations, feeding more than 60,000 students a day.

            From a young age Tami was always hardworking, dedicated and a perfectionist in all that she did. In high school, Tami was a standout student and a national officer in FHA (Future Homemaker’s Association). She participated in athletics, 4-H and played piano for her local church.

            Tami continued her education at Colorado State University, graduating with her Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and was president of her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. Tami completed her Master’s degree in Nutrition Sciences at Boston University. She also received her PhD from Iowa State University, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Foodservice Systems Administration/Management.  She went on to have a successful career as a dietary consultant. Tami’s ambition moved her quickly up the ranks. She held many positions including, Marketing Director of the National Dairy Council, Marketing Director of Schwan’s Food Services and ultimately started her own private consulting firm. Tami was also awarded 2006 Member of the Year by the School Nutrition Association.

            Throughout her life, Tami’s love of travel and new places led to her living across the US – from Boston to California, and several places in between. Tami’s love of Colorado brought her back to Colorado Springs in 2016.

            In her free time, Tami enjoyed golf, travel, cooking, entertaining and the arts. She was well respected by her peers and a recipient of several professional awards. Tami remained a part of the family farm.  

            She is preceded in death by her parents; great-grandparents, Walter and Tretha Bourne, grandparents, Steve and Belva Cline and Sam (Mildred) Bourne, aunt and uncle, John and Dorine Gill.   

            Tami is survived by her siblings, Stanley (Lora) Cline of McClave, CO and Stephen (Jana) Cline of Windsor, CO; many nieces and nephews, Morgan Cline, Mallory (Austin) Griffith, Adrianne Cline, Jackson Cline, Parker Cline and Sophia Cline, numerous cousins and great-nephew, August Griffith. She is also survived by two aunts and uncles, Betty (Dick) Fenwick, Marge (Joe) Miller as well as many other family and friends.

            Tami was loved by her family and will be missed by all. We were lucky to know such a vibrant, caring soul. She will be remembered as a loyal and loving sister, aunt and friend.
