A Graveside service for former longtime Southeastern Colorado resident and a resident of Lakin, Kansas since 1984, Ruth Evelyn Schibbelhut will be held at 1:30PM on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Union Valley Cemetery in Hasty, Colorado.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 9:00AM until 12:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Ruth was born to Hubert N. and Esther L. (Sperry) Smith and died in Lakin on February 16, 2016 at the age of 85.
Mrs. Schibbelhut is preceded by her mother Esther Neuhold, stepfather Frank Neuhold; husband Ernest in 1984; daughter Jill Schibbelhut; brother, Robert “Bob” Neuhold and her sister Marjorie Herbert; and by one granddaughter, Melissa Davis.
Ruth is survived by her children; Linda Davis of Russell, KS, Gail (Ray) Turner of Hasty, Karen Priddy (Dennis Weeks) of Liberal, KS, Vera (Steve) Moreland of Syracuse, KS, Brenda (Damon) Grusing of Lakin, KS, Rhonda (Steve) Grusing of Syracuse, KS and Janel (Doug) Kysar of Lakin, KS. She is also survived by her sisters; Jean (Leroy) Schwartz, June May and Margaret (Alan Albert) Thompson all of Lamar as well as Marilyn Twombly of Boise City, OK and Elaine (Jim) Davison of Olathe, CO. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Syracuse Genealogy Society and/or the Hamilton County Museum either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
