Roxie was born on May 24, 1930 at Canon City, Colorado to Arnold and Mary Ann (Welty) Johnson and passed away on November 20, 2008 at
Prowers
Medical
Center in
Lamar, Colorado at the age of 78.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fay Burgess, son Ray Burgess, grandson, Clayton Burgess and her granddaughter, Autumn Brassfield.
Roxie is survived by her children; Barbara (Steve) Yarborough of Bloomfield, NM, Wayne (Vicki) Burgess of Hasty, CO, David (Carla) Burgess of Quinter, KS, Cheryl (Kelly) Owens of Lamar as well as her 10 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters; Kate Lynn of Colorado Springs, CO, Phyllis (Gene) Emery of Canon City, CO, Lois (Charles) Wagner also of Canon City, CO and her brothers Bob Johnson,
Napa CA, and Jim (Linda) Towne of Pueblo.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Christian Church, building fund either direct or in care of the Peacock Funeral Home.
