A graveside memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Robert L. Hurley, was held on Friday November 1, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar. Mike Martin will officiate the service.
Per Robert’s request cremation has taken place and there was no public visitation.
Robert L. Hurley was born on September 10, 1942 in Lamar, Colorado to Willard C. and Ruth M. (Stevens) Hurley and departed this life on October 18, 2013 at his home in Lamar at the age of 71.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; by one brother – Gary Whisenand on May 16, 2013; by an infant son – Rocky Hurley, and an infant brother – Willard Hurley.
Robert is survived by two daughters – Connie Coppersmith of Longmont, CO and Tammy (Doug) Daffern of Clovis, NM; by two sons – Gary (Noemi) Hurley of Muskogee, OK and Jimmy Hurley of Pueblo, CO; by four grandchildren – Haydn Olsen; Josh Franek; Dakotah Hicks; and Kadyn Hicks; and by four siblings – Terry (Judy) Whisenand of Holly; Tom Wartman of Holly; Velma Hill of Lamar; and Wilma (Cordell) Ice of Pueblo; also surviving are numerous other relatives and many friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Lamar Area Hospice either directly or through the funeral home office.
