Paul L. Weber

A Service of Celebration for Lamar resident and formerly longtime Wiley farmer and rancher, Paul L. Weber was held at 10:00AM, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Ian Blacker of the Lamar Christian Church officiating. Interment followed at the Fairmount Cemetery.

Visitation for Paul was held Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.

Paul was born on April 13, 1918 to Christian Frederick and Mary Elizabeth (Weimer) Weber in Prowers County, Colorado and passed away at Juniper Village in Lamar on January 6, 2014 at the age of 95.

Mr. Weber grew up in Wiley where he learned farming from his father at the early age of 6 back when farming was done by horses not tractors. They didn’t have a tractor on the farm until 1935.

Paul retired from farming about 1977 and opened Paul’s Antiques and Things on Main street in Lamar where he stocked it full of antiques that he had collected and stored in the barn since he was a kid on the farm. Paul loved his antique shop equally as much as he did farming.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Terry Dean Weber; grandson Kevin F. Weber; brothers Jonah, Alec, Ben, Joe, Harvey and Johnnie Weber and his sisters Lydia Weber, Pauline Miller, Juanita Scott, Mary W. May and Ruby Perry.

Paul is survived by his wife of 69 years Clara Weber of the family home in Lamar. His daughter Judy Weber of Lamar, brother Sam (Jody) Weber of Los Lunas, NM, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice or the Lamar Christian Church either direct or through the Peacock Funeral Home.
