There will be no services at this time for lifetime Lamar resident, Mary Petersen.
Per Mary’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.
Mary was born on July 6, 1939 at Lamar, Colorado to Charles and Cora Cornelia (Conifer) Kent and passed away on April 2, 2012 at her home in Lamar with her family by her side at the age of 72.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Lenora Wilson, Tom Kent, and Elaine Brown.
Mary is survived by her husband John Petersen of the family home in Lamar, children; Susan (James) MacDonald of Marshall, Arkansas, Kim (Alden) Piner, Scott V. Petersen all of Lamar and Kelley Petersen of Millstadt, Illinois. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brother; Charles (Jane) Kent of Denver, CO as well as other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
