A funeral service for longtime Lamar resident, Marlene R. Specht was held at 2:30 PM on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Ellis officiating.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 31, 2013 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM Noon at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Marlene was born on May 30, 1965 at Eads, Colorado to L.D. and Phyllis G. (Foxworthy) Nelson and passed away on October 25, 2013 at the age of 48.
She is preceded in death by her sister; Diana Nelson, nephew; Lane Specht, sister-in-law; Debbie Specht-Jeffryes, maternal grandparents; Albert and Gayetta Foxworthy and paternal grandparents; Dan and Clara Nelson.
Marlene is survived by her husband; Ron Specht of the family home in Lamar, her children; Jonathan (Karla Baril) Specht of Lamar, Lauren (Paul Tyler) Specht, Abbie (Jonathan) Myeres) Specht all of Pueblo and twins; Paul and Adrienne Specht of the family home in Lamar. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren; Aislynn, Jobe, Joshua, Lucas, Elijah, Alex, and Leilah, her parents, L.D. and Phyllis Nelson, siblings; Kendra (Rock) Banion of Bloomington, IN, Marie (Allen) Watts and Darwin Nelson all of Eads; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and a host of friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Marlene R. Specht Memorial Fund in care of Peacock Funeral Home.
