A graveside funeral service for longtime Lamar resident, Margaret G. Casper, was held at 11:00 AM Saturday November 17, 2012 at the Riverside Cemetery in Lamar.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Peacock Funeral Home.
Margaret was born on May 1, 1915 in Green City, MO to Hiram L and Rosa Bell (Gowen) Ferrell and departed this life on Thursday November 15, 2012 at the Southeast Colorado Longterm Care Center in Springfield at the age of 97.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, brothers – Fred, Cameron, and Manuel; nephew – Kenneth; sisters – Nellie, Gertrude, Edna, Irene, Florence, and Emma; by one son – Vernon; by one daughter – Vera; two grandsons – Jackie and Jimmy Dixon; and one great granddaughter – Mallory Ward.
Margaret is survived by three children – Lola (Joe) Dixon of Campo, CO; Janet Mullins of Las Vegas, NV; and Margaret (Sam) Maggart of Springfield, CO; she is also survived by 20 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Cimarron Heritage Center-PO Box 214; Boise City, OK 73933 or to the LTCC in Springfield either directly or in care of the funeral home office.
