M. Edna Pedersen
A service of celebration for Lamar resident, Edna Pedersen, was held at 10:00 AM Thursday December 27, 2012 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Reverend Galen Burnett officiating the service. Burial followed in the Veteran’s Section of Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar.
Visitation for Edna was held from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday December 26, 2012 and prior to the service on Thursday at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Mrs. Edna Pedersen was born on November 26, 1928 in Werner, Oklahoma to William Hughes and May Lou Jordan-Hughes and departed this life on Saturday December 22, 2012 at Prowers Medical Center in Lamar with her family by her side at the age of 84.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband – Darrell M. Pedersen on March 13, 2009; by two daughters – Betty Mae Henning and Mary Lee Van Buskirk and by one sister – Rosa Lou Harget.
Edna is survived by three children – JoNell (Don) Lening of Lamar; David Henning of Chappell, Nebraska; and Greg (Nancy) Henning of White Fish, Montana; by eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and by two sisters – Mary Carmel Herren of Lamar; and Mamie Lee Stone also of Lamar; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Friends Church in Chivington, Colorado either directly or through the funeral home office.
Visitation and funeral services for Edna Pedersen are under the direction of the Peacock Funeral Home, providing our neighbors with four generations of trust and service.
