Louise Austin

           A celebration of life for longtime Lamar resident, Louise Austin was held at 10:00AM on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Pastor Rick Beard of the Living Covenant Church officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery.

            Per Louise’s request there was no visitation.

            Louise was born on September 9, 1923 at Harper County, Oklahoma to James Melvin and Lillie Mae (Divine) Segers and passed away on August 9, 2015 at her home in Lamar with her family by her side at the age of 91.

            She is preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Austin; her parents, James and Lillie Segers; son, Ron Austin; grandson, Bobby Coplen; son-in-law, Bill McCaslin; brothers, Marion, Francis, Leroy and Gene; and brothers-in-law, Jack and Bill Austin.

            Louise is survived by her daughters, Dottie McCaslin and Penny Vogel both of Lamar; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren and her sister, Maxine (Jerry) Beard of Sulfor Springs, OK. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Delphine Segers of Lamar; Susie Austin of Grand Junction, CO; and Mary Lou Austin of Lamar; daughter-in-law, Kathie Payne-Austin of Lamar as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.

            Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
