Judy Dawson
A Celebration of Life for longtime Lamar resident, Judy Dawson will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Lamar Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Meece officiating. A second service for Judy will be held at 11:00AM CST on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Ford Community Church in Ford, Kansas with interment following at the Ford Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Judy was born on July 29, 1944 at Mullenville, Kansas to Robert Wayne and Juanita Palenstine (Steele) Watkins and passed away on March 13, 2013 at Holly Nursing Care Center in Holly at the age of 68.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Herbert Leroy Dawson, her parents and two sisters.
Judy is survived by her three children; Philip Scott (Donna) Dawson of Greeley, CO, Duane Keith Dawson of Northglenn, CO and Alicia Kay Dawson of Lamar, grandchildren; Jon Paul Preston, LaTasha Monique, Briana Lynn (Brittinie Rideout), Shelby Kay, Devin Barton, Jonathan Lieby, and Janie Tennison. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren; Derrick Anthony and Chantel Kay Barton, brother; Victor (Ruby) Watkins of Hugoton, KS as well as numerous other family and a host of friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Missionary Baptist Church or to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
