A Funeral Mass for Lamar resident Jose Macedonio Vazquez was held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 17, 2015 with Reverend Stephen Olamolu as celebrant. A Rosary Service for Mr. Vazquez was held prior to the Mass at 9:30 AM with Maria Elena Gomez reciting. Both services will be held at the St. Francis De Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation for Jose was held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Jose was born on September 19, 1949 at Sain Alto Zacatecas, Mexico to Lorenzo Vazquez Hernandez and Maria Cruz Hernandez and passed away on September 14, 2015 at his home in Lamar with his family by his side at the age of 65.
Jose is survived by his wife, Francisca Gomez De Vazquez of the family home in Lamar, children, Humberto Vazquez; Arturo Vazquez; Jose Rosario Vazquez; Eleazar Vazquez; Jaime Vazquez; Demetrio Vazquez; Maria Guadalupe Vazquez and Francisco Javier Vazquez, twenty-seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Mateo Vazquez; Matea Vazquez; Hilario Vazquez; Martin Vazquez; Carmela Vazquez; Luciano Vazquez; Ruben Vazquez; Feliz Vazquez; Agustin Vazquez; Manuel Vazquez and Seberiano Vazquez as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Jose M. Vazquez Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
