A graveside funeral service with full Military Honors for longtime Lamar resident and former Altus, Oklahoma resident, Fenton Cavenar, were held Monday, November 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Fairmount Cemetery under the auspices of the Lamar VFW, St. George Creaghe, Jr., Post #3621 and the American Legion Post #71. Ray Matteson of the Lamar Christian Church will officiate.
 
Visitation was held on Friday, October 30, 2009 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
 
Mr. Cavenar, better known as Fenton to his family and friends, was born July 4, 1915 at Elmer, Oklahoma to Thomas Robert Howard and Carrie Lee (Jennings) Cavenar and passed away at

Juniper
Village on October 28, 2009 at the age of 94.
 
Fenton is preceded in death by his wife; Katherine, his parents, and his two brothers Joseph and Paul.
 
He is survived by his daughter; Kathie (Richard) Mauch of Lamar, grandchildren; Gary (Michelle) Mauch and Amy (Sam) Garbiso all of Greeley, CO, great-grandchildren; Jeramy and Jacob “Jake” Garbiso, all of Greeley, CO, Matthew and Desirae Mauch, and Hillary, Hope and Blake Cohen. Fenton is also survived by other family and friends.
 
Memorial Contribution may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice direct or in care of the Peacock Funeral Home.
 
Arrangements are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
