She was born at home in rural Delta to her parents Earl John Dillon and Opal (Rippy) Dillon. She later welcomed a sister Earlene. Glenda (Glenny, as some remember her) enjoyed the outdoors as a child and would rather work outside than inside the home.
She later went on to college and became a teacher, one of her most rewarding parts of her life. Taught for many years. Several people remember her as a strict teacher and glad to have had her.
She had become very close friends with Jean Fritz (Reynolds) during her college years. Glenda was introduced to William Benson (Jean’s nephew) and married him August 25, 1961.
From this union they were blessed with a son, John, after the death of a baby girl a few years before. John and his wife, Milene gave them two grandsons to cherish, Kord and Kleat. They always called her Grammy.
Glenda enjoyed her dogs, her hogs, asparagus hunting, canning, and KFC. She also liked a good game of pitch and the Broncos.
Glenda was very good-hearted. She always made a lot when she cooked cause you never knew who would drop by and they never left hungry. She was very giving and caring this way. And we will miss her!
Glenda was born on February 5, 1928 at Delta, Colorado to Earl John and Opal Nill (Rippy) Dillon and passed away on July 13, 2010 at the age of 82.

She is preceded in death by her husband; William A. Benson, infant daughter and her parents.

Glenda is survived by her son; John (Milene) Benson of Hartman, Colorado, grandchildren; Kord and Kleat Benson, and her sister; Earlene (Wallace) Wright of Delta, Colorado.
