A celebration of life for lifetime Lamar resident, George M. Ausmus was held at 11:00AM on Thursday, April10, 2014 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Ray Matteson of the Lamar Christian Church officiating. Interment was held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 9:30AM at the Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
Visitation for George was held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 1:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
George was born on August 3, 1939 in Lamar, Colorado to Jasper K. and Madge (Meacham) Ausmus and passed away on April 4, 2014 at his home in Lamar with his family by his side at the age of 74.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Virgil Ausmus, Herval Ausmus and Doris Prante.
George is survived by his wife; Jo Ausmus of the family home in Lamar, children; Tomie K. Ward of Amarillo, TX, George Michael “Mike” (Shawna) Ausmus of Pueblo, Tausha (Brandon) Ausmus of Greeley, CO, Shawn (Shan) Ausmus of Riverside, CA, Sandy (Danny) Cummings of Lakewood, CO and Lisa (Chad) Nolder of Lamar. He is also survived by his fifteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister-in-law; Brenda (Steve) Kinser of Lamar as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
