A service of celebration will be held at a later date for Eads resident and former Lamar resident, Dorthea J. Hott.
Per Dorthea’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation.
Dorthea J. Hott was born on October 7, 1918 in McKinney, Texas to William C. Fields and Nell Dean Straughan-Fields and departed this life on Monday December 24, 2012 at the Weisbrod Memorial Nursing Home in Eads at the age of 94.
Mrs. Hott was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband – Robert Sydney Hott; by one son – Sydney Hott; by three brothers – Wallace, John, and Billie Fields; and by one sister – Mary Sue Fields.
Dorthea Hott is survived by one daughter – Mona (David) Appel of Lamar; and by one daughter-in-law – Edna Oeltjen of Denver; by eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; also surviving are several other relatives and a host of friends.
