A memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Charles E. “Chuck” Hawkins, Jr. was held at 2:00 PM on Friday January 10, 2014 at the Lamar Christian Church. Ian Blacker officiate dthe service and in-urnment followed in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar.
Per Chuck’s request, cremation has taken place and there was no public visitation.
Mr. Chuck Hawkins was born on March 29, 1946 in Lamar, Colorado to Charles E. Hawkins, Sr. and Elizabeth L. (Derr) Hawkins and departed this life on Tuesday December 31, 2013 at his home in Lamar with his family by his side at the age of 67.
Chuck was preceded in death by his brother – Jim Hawkins.
Chuck Hawkins is survived by his wife – Brenda Hawkins of Lamar; by one son – Jeffery (Leslie) Hawkins of Colorado City; by one grandson – Brayden Hawkins; by his parents – Charles and Betty Hawkins of Caddoa; by one brother – Joe (Gail) Hawkins of Orchard, CO; and by one sister – Barbara (Steve) Wertz of McClave; and by one sister-in-law – Linda Hawkins of Lamar; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Southeast Colorado Cancer Initiative either directly to PO Box 727; Lamar, CO 81052 or through the funeral home office.
