Bonifacio “The Jerky Guy” Hernandez         

A Funeral Mass for Wiley resident Bonifacio Hernandez was held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 30, 2015 with Reverend Charlie Sena as celebrant. A Rosary Service for Mr. Hernandez was held prior to the Mass at 9:30 AM with Deacon Allan Medina reciting. Both services were held at the St. Francis De Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Interment with full Military Honors under the auspices of the Lamar VFW and American Legion  followed at Fairmount Cemetery in the Veteran’s section.

Visitation for Junior, or “The Jerky Guy” as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.

Junior was born on March 4, 1942 at Wiley, Colorado to Bonifacio Sr. and Josefa (Reyes) Hernandez and passed away at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo on April 23, 2015 at the age of 73.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings.

Mr. Hernandez is survived by his wife, Loretta Isgar-Hernandez of the family home, children, Joe (Andrea) Hernandez of Lamar; Jineena (Brandon) Gehrer of Colorado Springs and Evelyn Ortiz of Pecos, NM. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Melissa Medina, Cassandra Medina, Clarissa Morales, Gena Pulido, Eric Pulido, Jesse Pulido, Cody Gehrer, Dyllan Gehrer, Victor Workman, Joseph A. Hernandez and Sierra Hernandez, numerous great grandchildren and his brother, Bobby Hernandez of Lamar; as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bonifacio Hernandez, Jr. Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
