A memorial celebration of life for longtime Lamar Resident and beautician, Barbara Jo Collier was held at 11:00AM on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Lamar First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Rory Gillespie officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date at
Fairmount
Cemetery.
Per Barbara’s request cremation has taken place and there was no visitation.
Barbara Jo was born on May 30, 1936 at Pierceville, Kansas to Jack and Vergie (Snodgrass) Stephens, and passed away on October 19, 2012 at Memorial Health Systems in
Colorado Springs, CO with her family by her side at the age of 76.
She is proceeded in death by her parents; Jack and Vergie Stephens, her brother; Walter Daniel Stephens and her nephew Kip Earl.
Barbara Jo is survived by her husband; Pete Collier of the family home in Lamar, children; Craig (Carol Tellez) Collier of Lamar, Cody (Robert) Ratcliff of Hasty and Nicki Sue Chick of Denver, CO, grandchildren; Chase (Michelle Harris) Collier,
Jason (Jerie Rider) Ratcliff, Robbie Smith, Kenny Lee and Kara Chick and great-children; Kayson Collier, Connor Collier and Ryker Ratcliff. She is also survived by her sisters; Herma Lee (Jim) Trumble of Colorado Springs and Linda (Jim) Earl of Lamar as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar First Presbyterian Church either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
