A come and go memorial lunch for longtime Lamar resident Alvin C. Lyons was held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Lamar Christian Church Fellowship Hall.
Alvin was born on June 19, 1935 at Biloxi, Mississippi to Louis John and Catherine Ann (Baker) Lyons and passed away at his home with his family by his side on February 28, 2013 at the age of 77.
Mr. Lyons was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings; Ruth Buonomo, Robert Lyons, Ernest Lyons and Mary Lyons.
He is survived by his wife Grace Hoselton of Lamar, his daughter Sue (Randy) Jones, grandchildren; Mandi Ausbun, Natasha (Randy) Jones-Blundell, April (Brian) Sharp all of Lamar; 11 great grandchildren as well as his siblings; Joyce Cox of Houston, TX and Betty Lyons of Greenwich, NY. Other relatives and many friends also survive.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
