A graveside celebration of life for longtime Bent and Prowers County resident, Thelma Schibbelhut will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Hillside Cemetery in Granada, Colorado.

Visitation for Thelma will be held from 1:00PM until 5:00PM on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Peacock Family Chapel.

Thelma was born on April 4, 1928 at McClave, Colorado to Eli Franklin and Eva Marie (Colbourn) Spitzer and passed away on September 16, 2017 at the Holly Nursing Care Center at the age of 89.

She is preceded in death by her son, Brian “Scotty” Schibbelhut; her parents, siblings, Lloyd Spitzer, Robert “Bob” Spitzer, Mary Marie Chatham, Clyde Spitzer, Richard Spitzer, Harold Spitzer and Lola McElroy and her son-in-law, Sam Grasmick, Jr.

Thelma is survived by her children, Donald L. Schibbelhut of Kansas City, MO; Larry E. Schibbelhut, Dale Allen Schibbelhut both of Denver, CO; Kay Grasmick of Pueblo, CO, Wanda Schibbelhut of Granada and Anne “Bunny” (Alan) Hoskins of Pueblo, CO and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Edwin Spitzer of Lamar, Harry (Flossie) Spitzer of Wiley, CO and Norma Boggio of Lamar, Colorado as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Christian Church and/or American Cancer Society either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
