A memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Raymond Melgoza, Jr. will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Lamar Senior Center with John Slone of the Lamar Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses officiating.
Per Raymond’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.
Raymond was born on February 8, 1936 at Lamar, Colorado to Raymond and Vicenta “Bessie” (Rojas) Melgoza, Sr. and passed away on November 22, 2017 at his home in Lamar at the age of 81.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rudy Melgoza.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Margaret Melgoza of the family home in Lamar, children, Stephanie (Ron) Wedman of Argonia, KS, Diego Melgoza of AZ and Caren Melgoza of KS as well as several step-children and several grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Elydia Ubeles of La Junta, CO, Armando (Ann) Melgosa of AZ, Oscar Melgosa of Lamar, Dan (Carmen) Melgosa of Pueblo West, CO, Ortie (Leroy) Quintana of Colorado Springs, CO, Jerry (Margie) Melgosa of Rocky Ford, CO, Albert Melgosa of Manzanola, CO and Sandra (Joel) Lundquist of Rocky Ford, CO as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
