Visitation for Joe will be held on Sunday, May 14, 2017 from 3:00PM until 5:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.

Joe was born on July 7, 1935 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Clark and Naomi Elizabeth (Stolfus) Fowler and passed from this life into the presence of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior on May 11, 2017 at the age of 81 years and under the special care of Lamar Area Hospice.

His education was in Dodge City, St. John’s Military School and graduated from Lamar High School in 1954. His life was spent ranching, farming, doing mechanic work and driving semis either locally or into several states.

Joe was baptized on January 10, 1948 at First Christian Church, Dodge City, Kansas and transferred his membership to Lamar Christian Church a few years later. He was united in marriage to Cody (Thompson) Laughlin in 1962 and to this union three children were born. After their divorce, Joe married Peggy McVicker in 1995.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Fowler and sisters, Betty Fowler and Barbara Lamborn.

Joe is survived by his wife, Peggy of the family home in Lamar; sisters, Marianna Henderson of Colorado Springs, CO and Jane Verhoeff of Dodge City, KS; children, Joseph Robert “Rob” (Dawn) Fowler of Amarillo, TX, Misty (Brett) Barden of Franktown, CO and Naomi (Mark) Adkins of Lamar and sister-in-law, Lucy of Fowler of Wiley. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jeromie Barden of Castle Rock, CO, Haley (Brian) Kretz of Wiley, Tieryn Harris and Chelsea Fowler both of Round Rock, TX, Joshua Fowler of Claredon, TX, Morgan Fowler and Gage Payne both of Lamar along with many nieces and nephews.

Joe was a 58 year member and loyal supporter of Lamar Masonic Lodge #90 AM & FM having served in all the chairs and for dozens of funeral services for his departed brethren. His memorization of the material for the Masonic burial message was astounding.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s memory to the Lamar Area Hospice, Lamar Christian Church and/or charity of one’s choice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.

Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
