Dixie was born on March 27, 1940 at Salina, Kansas to Harold and Ardyce (Bradley) Larson and passed away on June 14, 2018 at her home in Lamar with her family by her side at the age of 78.

Dixie Pearson was the daughter of Harold and Ardyce Larson. Dixie attended school in Brighton, CO and graduated in the Class of 1958. Dixie attended college at Kansas Wesleyan University where she met her husband Larry Pearson, to whom she has been married for 60 years. They enjoyed a very special loving relationship.

Dixie and Larry Pearson were blessed with four Children: Saralynn (Chris) Jara, Marc (Paula) Pearson, Renee Murdock, and Jillann (Matthew) Johnson. Dixie and Larry were additionally blessed with 15 grandkids, 2 great grandkids and 2 great grandkids on the way.

Dixie loved being a mother and cherished family life. Anytime her family was gathering Dixie was ready and anxious. She loved sharing her love and good food with the people she loved so dearly. She especially enjoyed the Christmas season.

Dixie was employed by the Lamar School District as an elementary librarian and lunch clerk. She enjoyed all the kids at Parkview and loved to tell good stories about the kids she served.

Dixie was a caring person and spent many hours sending cards to people she cared deeply about whether for birthdays, anniversaries, times people were ill, or a note to ask how they were getting along. Many hours were spent praying for so many people she knew and treasured for so many years.

Dixie lived through two years in a valiant battle with cancer. In those two years she never quit giving her love to her family and her welcome smile to all she met.

Dixie loved the Lord and loved her church; putting in many hours devoted to the annual rummage sale as she felt it was beneficial to our community and it was a labor of love. She cherished her time spent with the United Methodist Women throughout her life.

She is preceded by her parents and her brother, Jack Larson.
