Dear Marilyn and family, I was shocked to hear of David's passing. Terry & I were in Lamar today and I asked if we had time to run by & see you, both. Terry said he thought he had told me, as he heard it in passing from one of the farmers at home & with everything, he put it on a back burner, meaning to call you & never got back to it. David was such a sweet, wonderful man and we enjoyed him and doing business with him, over the years. We will miss him. We will keep you and the family in our prays for times to come, as I know the pain of loss, sticks with us for a long time and never completely goes away. God bless you, and if there is anything we can do, please don't hesitate to call us. In Christ's love, Charlotte & Terry Sherman |

To the Dave Heck family:
I have known Dave for over sixty years. In elementary school he was David Anderson before his mother married Ed Heck and he became David Heck (I don't recall calling him Dave until high school). Life must have been difficult being raised as an only child by a single parent but you would never know it by talking to Dave. He was always positive and optimistic - I guess those are the qualities of a dry land wheat farmer and a good one he was. He started with nothing and amassed quite a spread and shared his knowledge in his work with the Wheat Growers Association where he served as president for a period of time.
My thoughts take me back to high school where Dave was the wrestler, and then on to college where we enjoyed occasional woodies, and finally in his adult life where we exchanged our annual Christmas cards in which he expressed his love for Linda and his three boys of whom he was so proud. He will be missed.
To Linda, David, Patrick, Stephen and grandchildren, Ilga and I grieve with you. Dave will be missed and we send our sincere sympathy to each of you. Ronald Ross |
