Stella Carter
A Graveside Memorial Service for longtime Granada resident, Stella Carter, will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Granada Cemetery with Don Stark and Fred Neuhold officiating.
Per Stella’s request cremation took place and there will be no visitation.
Stella Emelia Carter was born November 26, 1929 at Tribune, Kansas to Aurele “Frenchy” and Viola “Kate” (Groomer) Monette, and passed away January 9, 2009 at the Holly Nursing Care Center in Holly, Colorado.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Les Carter, her parents; sisters; Lana Joy Monette and Norma Jean Monette and a great-granddaughter; Kaegan RaeAnn Fagan.
Stella is survived by her children, Sandra Jean (Bill) Fagan of Borger, Texas, Leslie Keith (Debra) Carter of Granada, Leanna Kay (Jr.) Baca of Granada, Arvenia Lynn (Kelley) Morris of Lamar and Brenda Sue Carter of Lamar. She is also survived by her 22 Grandchildren, 34 Great-Grandchildren and 1Great-Great Grandson, brother; Ernie Monette of Lamar and her sister; Ann “Punky” (Roger) Maier of Denver.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Granada First Responders in care of the Funeral Home Office.

Stella was a very special person to you all and her passing has no doubt left a huge void in your hearts that will never quite heal. But remember that she is in Heaven with Les now, where sickness and suffering are no more. Remember her for the truly special person she was to each of you.
