Delwyn G. BaanHofman
A Celebration of Life for longtime Lamar resident Delwyn G. BaanHofman was held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church with Reverend Steven Thomas officiating.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
A second service was held at 2:00 PM (CST), Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Platte, South Dakota with Reverend Dan Daum officiating. Interment followed in the Platte City Cemetery in Platte, South Dakota.
Visitation also took place at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Platte from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM (CST), Sunday, March 7, 2010.
Delwyn was born April 21, 1955 at Platte, South Dakota to Tony and Rozella (Vandenbos) BaanHofman and passed away on March 1, 2010 at his home in Lamar, with his family by his side at the age of 54.
He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Duane Mellema.
Delwyn is survived by his wife of 33 years; Lorna BaanHofman of the family home in Lamar, his daughter; Kayla (Josh) Galloway and son Casey BaanHofman and granddaughters; Olivia and Carly, all of Lamar. He is also survived by his parents; Tony and Rozella BaanHofman of Platte, South Dakota, his brother; Wayne (Luann) BaanHofman of Aurora, CO, sisters; Janice Mellema of Platte, South Dakota and Marcia DuFrain of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many many friends also survive.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.

He was an amayzing person and I am sorry that another life is cut short from cancer. Bad things happen to good people and I will never understand it!
